Krista and Tanner’s engagement session will forever be one of my favorites. We were blessed with the most amazing golden light!! You’ll soon see in the photos, but golden light is also such a good term for Krista and Tanner’s relationship! When they are together, the two love birds beam happiness and joy. These high school sweethearts know how to have fun and laugh and play, and it was such a delight to capture all of that during their engagement session at Antelope Island!

I loved the outfits that Krista and Tanner wore! I send all my couples a style guide when they book with me, so that they know what does and doesn’t look good in a photo, and these two nailed it! Their colors looked so good with the surroundings + perfectly complimented their complexions! I just loved getting to spend more time with these two! We bonded over our mutual love of Chick-fil-a, debated the merits of Costa Vida and Cafe Rio, and discussed lineage of our ancestors — all in a days work, right? Ha!

They have such a cute proposal story too! Tanner took Krista to the zoo, and had the whole path mapped out. They would end up at the Elephants (Krista’s favorite animal), and there he would pop the questions. When they finally got to the elephants, Tanner started saying sweet things and everything clicked in Krista’s mind. This was THE moment, but before it could happen Krista had some questions. “Wait, you aren’t proposing are you? You don’t even have a ring!” and she proceeded to pat down Tanner.  Krista didn’t find the ring, and thought he was kidding. He wasn’t, and there really was a ring. But then Krista asked “Do my parents know?”, and they did. After all the questions were put to ease, Krista accepted Tanner’s proposal with a resounding “Yesss!!” Isn’t that so funny?? I’ve learned over the years that most proposals don’t go as planned, but they are all perfect in their own unique way!
