With a breathtaking mountain view as their backdrop, Carolyn and JR professed their love for one another, exchanged vows, and officially became Mr. and Mrs. Barnes. Their Alta Lodge Wedding, at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, was simply beautiful. All of Cal and JR’s favorite people gathered from far and wide to commemorate the special occasion.

The day started off with skiing, one of Cal and JR’s favorite things to do together. It was the perfect activity to kick off a day all about the happy couple! Cal looked beautiful in her backless lace gown with bejeweled embellishments and long cathedral length veil. JR’s look was mountain man chic with a tan suit, cowboy hat, and bolo tie. One lovely thing about this wedding was how helpful all the bridesmaids and groomsmen were. They were running around the venue fetching bouquets, delivering bolo ties, and hyping up Cal and JR at every turn.

Alta Lodge Wedding

JR and Cal’s Alta Lodge wedding ceremony was beautiful. They chose to incorporate family the whole way through, with Cal’s uncle as the officiant and her brother giving a touching speech. When it was time for their first kiss, a gust of wind came through and made Cal’s veil fly. It was the definition of a picture perfect moment! They had a bagpiper lead them back down the aisle, and then it was party time!

Dinner was accompanied by speeches, which were all touching, and full of decent jokes 😉 which is apparently what JR told everyone after he first met Cal. “She’s decent, right?” It was so fun to learn more about JR and Cal and see the full spectrum of love surrounding them. I loved JR and Cal’s first dance – they were singing to each other and so in the moment. The best! The party really started when Cal stood on the balcony and threw sparkly cowboy hats to the wedding guests below. From there on out, it was a full on country love fest, with singing, dancing, and drinks flowing!

Cal and JR, I am SO happy for you two! Celebrating your love is so easy, and you guys deserve the best! Thanks so much for having me document your special day! I wish you the best life together, and all the perfect powder ski days for the rest of time!
